  subject : School visit
I am in year 2 and we visited today from our school, Sedgefield Hardwick Primary. It was very fun but some bits were a bit scary! We did rope making which was hard but we had fun on the climbing ship. I climbed the mast which was very high and wobbly! We learned lots of interesting things today and I hope I can come back again soon.
Milly Replies : Hi Eleanor. Great to hear about your school visit yesterday. The wooden playship is a lot of fun isn't it? I hope you and your friends come again soon, or maybe you could bring your family and show them around! x

Milly Replies : I hope so too Melissa. I'm sure you will be, tell your friends. New exhibition opening on April 17th is all about Hartlepool's Ship Building Industry 'Built It, Sailed It, Wrecked It!'

Would just like to say thank you so much for having us to visit, it was a brilliant experience and the children especially adored the playship! I think they all just want to be pirates now. Will deffinitly be visiting again.
Milly Replies : Hi Sharon. So pleased you and your pupils enjoyed your visit. We host birthday pirate parties so the children can become a pirate again on their special day. Please let other teachers know about us.

  subject : FUN!
When I was younger I was scared of the 'Fighting Ships' (especially the operating table!) because the sounds and smells felt so real. I remember wailing at my dad to let me out and crying my eyes out. I haven't been since but I really want to so that I can go the full way in!
Milly Replies : Hi Katie. Some young children find 'Fighting Ships' a bit scary. It's dark and noisy, but it really shows how hard life was at sea. I hope you come and visit again soon and that you try again. The battle scene at the end is very dramatic and when you step outside and look down at HMS Trincomalee, it will be worth it, I promise. Let me know if you do it!

Milly Replies : Hi Emily. Thanks for your message. I'm glad you and your classmates had a good time. HMS Trincomalee is very impressive, isn't she? Remember to tell all your friends about us.

Hi...Me And A couple of people from my school visited today, I loved the boat indoors...we are doing a piece of writing about sailing and being in a storm and that was perfect for it and the seagull cry machine thing was great! I Hope I Visit Again One Day... Bye!
Milly Replies : Hi Keelan The Three Brothers Grant fishing coble (boat) is always a popular feature of the museum. Why don't you come back and visit during the return of the World War II exhibition (Saturday 30th January for two weeks)?

My husband and I have been to the Historic Quayside several times. He is disabled, so we assumed he would not be able to get around the Trincomalee. Now we know that you have lifts there . . . . . What a consideration for disabled people.
Milly Replies : Thank you for your email. I'm pleased that you and your husband have discovered that HMS Trincomalee has a lift. I hope you visit again very soon and enjoy your 'trip around the ship'. HMS Trincomalee was the first historic ship in the world to have a lift fitted.

What a marvelous place! Ideal for visiting WITH, or without, a wheelchair.. Staff very informative and helpful, especially the guides on the Trincomalee who helped my Mum, (who is disabled), truly enjoy the maritime experience. Thanks again to all the sea farers and land lubbers at the Maritime Experience for working so hard to make our family day out such fun, and a day to remember !!
Milly Replies : Hi Chrissy Thanks for your kind words. I'm so pleased that you and you Mum enjoyed your day and that you found the quayside and ship accessible. I will make sure the staff see your message. We hope you return soon and there is always much more to see and do. x
