Welcome to the learning programme at Hartlepool Museums and Heritage Service! We offer your family activities during the holidays and a school programme during term time.

Local Heroes During early 2010 we are running a project combining mobile phone technology and local history.· Join in with role play to learn about two of Hartlepool’s Local Heroes: Henry Hood and Ralph Ward Jackson.·

Paper People!· Exciting new school workshops and exhibition, January 16th – March 6th 2010.· Meet unique life-size paper figures at the gallery in “The World of Philip Cox – Creator of Paper People”!· Contact us for details.
OOKL March 1st - 12th OOKL, a different way to LOOK at history. Combining research into local history and mobile technology, students will use the museum collection to find out about Hartlepool's history and use the mobile technology to present what they find to their class. KS2. Only a few places left.
Sail into the Tall Ships 2010: Maritime Creative Museums half term of workshops leading to a mini exhibition at the Museum put on by your class.
Throughout the year….
Dabble in Art – every 1st Saturday in the Art Gallery for 5-12 years old. Please book in advance by calling 01429 869706. A FREE art and craft group run by Hartlepool Art Club.
Schools Programme. We have a programme of free workshopsfor schools at the Museum and Gallery.· These range from Toys and Games for Key Stage 1 to curriculum themed handling sessions for Key Stage 2, through to Elizabethan themed workshops for Key Stage 3.· Workshops are 2 hours long and include a 1 hour session led by a member of the learning team and 1 hour self led session.
We also have a free loan box serviceon topics such as Romans, Victorians and Seaside Holidays.· Loans boxes can be borrowed free of charge for half a term
