Time Tug Explorers this Summer Holiday

Tuesday 27th July
Time Tug Explorers: Maritime
With Tall Ships Race only a week away, discover more about Tall Ships and Hartlepool’s Maritime History with the Time Tug.  Feel what shipwrecked wood is like, see how thick rope is on ships and discover what weapons they used on board pirate ships.  Afterwards make your own stained treasure map!

Young Fun
Under 5’s fun and games at the Museum of Hartlepool.  This week make your own pirate treasure out of salt dough and listen to the Night Pirates story.

Make A Mug

Time Tug Explorers: Georgian
It’s the Meet the Georgians Festival this week at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience, so come and discover the world of Mr Darcy and Jane Austin.  Handle objects from the Georgian Period and see some beautiful costume from the time.  Then create your own tea caddy for tea from the exhibition.

The Time Tug is off back in time again, and this time visits the Victorians.  What were the Victorians like?  What were Victorian schools like?  What toys did children used to play with?  Look at some objects from Victorian times and have a go a tea bag folding!

Throughout the year….

Dabble in Art – every 1st Saturday in the Art Gallery for 5-12 years old. Please book in advance by calling 01429 869706. A FREE art and craft group run by Hartlepool Art Club.

Schools Programme.
We have a programme of free workshops for schools at the Museum and Gallery.  These range from Toys and Games for Key Stage 1 to curriculum themed handling sessions for Key Stage 2, through to Elizabethan themed workshops for Key Stage 3.  Workshops are 2 hours long and include a 1 hour session led by a member of the learning team and 1 hour self led session.

We also have a free loan box service on topics such as Romans, Victorians and Seaside Holidays.  Loans boxes can be borrowed free of charge for half a term
